Chez la mere Catherine

6 place du Tertre, 75018, Paris
Cuisine: Français

One of Paris' most historic restaurants, founded in 1793 by Catherine Lemoine, the decor of Chez la Mere Catherine respects its past, retaining features such as traditional antiques, chairs and a bar. Spread throughout large rustic rooms, this is the original 'bistro' overlooking the city, with a peaceful garden and a blooming flowery terrace for wonderful summer dining. Although the menu has certainly changed over the years to meet the wishes of the clientele, the changes are not so radical as to stray from the typical cuisine of France. Offerings on the menu include Honey Confit of Suckling Pig, Ginger Grilled Frog's Legs and Seabream with Mango Coulis, amongst other delights. Entertaining you with performances of yesteryear, cabaret singers put on a show every night, whilst you enjoy your dinner in the romantic atmosphere of the village of Montmarte.
